The Series of Concerts “Music Antiga i Barroca” in Altea from 1 to 3 of May
Concerts “Music Antiga i Barroca” (Baroque and Early Music) will take place from 1 to 3 May in Altea. All concerts are free. This year (fourth edition) the performances will take place in Palau Altea, in its viewpoint and the Sant Francesc Church.
- On Wednesday, May 1, at 12:00 hours: the Mirador de Palau Altea hosts the concert “Three segles Antiga music, the XVI to XVIII”; which act Marisa Esparza (Renaissance and Baroque Traverso); Baroque and Renaissance xeremia oboist, Pere Saragossa; and Renaissance and Baroque bassoon under, Ovidi Giménez.
- On Thursday, May 2, at 20:00 hours: Sant Francesc Church will take place the concert “A l’Antiga: Dones, oblidades en el temps”. Therefore, this is a musical project dedicated exclusively to women composers of old music. soprano Carmen Botella; Paula Brieba theorbo and vihuela playing; and Sabrina Martin, director and harpsichordist.
- On Friday, May 3, at 20:00 hours: The cycle will end with a big concert at Palau Altea by the orchestra of the Conservatori Professional Corda Altea and the SFA. This Concert is an ambitious project by the String Orchestra of the SFA and the Conservatory of Altea, a group that takes several years of working under the direction of Slava Filipova. Orchestra receives two prestigious international soloists: Eric Aubier (trumpet) and Anabel Sáez (key).
The mayor of Culture in Altea invited the public to enjoy this series devoted to early music: “We open the cultural capital with this musical cycle and we have an interesting programming and high quality concerts, with the presence of important names of gender and local musicians. The closing of the cycle will be a concert that will be a major challenge for this young alteana grouping and an honor to have these great figures of the music world”.
Admission to all concerts is free.
